True-Lite Learning Center in Midland, TX is not somewhere as a parent you should not enroll your child. My experience with this facility was truly awful. The director instructed the staff to enforce processes that did not align with the **MINIMUM** standards for childcare centers. These standards are set through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as this facility is regulated by in the state of Texas. These once again **MINIMUM** standards tell the parent with a child enrolled here along with the child care operational permit holder what requirements the parent, childcare centers employees, and the child caregivers must follow. The director used tactics to threaten suspension & expulsion. These tactics used immediately stopped once I brought up these regulations this facility stated they followed in their handbook. Out of full transparency the director would complain that my 4 year old did not want to sleep during “quiet time”. The director would have my child in her office and FaceTime me everyday to show my child not sleeping. This caused mayhem in their eyes & as a parent explain to my child the quiet time process however my child simply wanted be active. Below is the documented regulation for this particular scenario. Article §746.2905. Are children required to sleep during this time? Subchapter M, Naptime April 2017 No. You must not: (1) Force a child to sleep or put anything in or on a child's head or body to force the child to rest or sleep [Medium]; or (2) Confine a child in a restrictive device to make the child rest or sleep. [Medium-High] Secondly my child had a minimal speech delay at the time & this facility did not allow the licensed professionals to visit the center to provide services to my child. Again another process not followed through the standards of childcare services in Texas. My child’s speech delay qualified him as special needs & this is True-lite statement on how they cooperate with qualified professionals & children enrolled at this facility. AGAIN not followed. True Lite welcomes children with special needs and any adjustments will be given to the child if recommended by a healthcare professional or a qualified professional associated with the local center district or Early Childhood Intervention. With parent request and approval, we will accommodate your child with special needs. We will ensure the activities integrate children with and without special care needs and ensure that all caregivers adapt equipment and procedures and varying methods as necessary to ensure that they care for the child with special needs in a natural environment. To conclude after 2 months of services I enrolled him at a different childcare center & had no issues whatsoever. My advice with this center is AVOID IT AT ALL COST. This place truly does not have the best outlook for the kids. The director and the directors assistant were extremely unprofessional & I can only hope moving forward to let everyone with a child know not to use this facility. I also have proof of all this to ensure I can show everyone the truth about True-Lite Learning Center in Midland, TX.
One star is a lot for this institution, although it looks nice and orderly, its administrative staff is not, all they care about is money and they do nothing for the children, never recommended, thank God I was able to take my child out and get a better place for him.
Unprofessional customer service.
So my fiancé and I were first time parents, and at first this facility looked very nice and clean. But as the months passed I noticed my baby very stressed coming home. Our baby is only 1 year by the way, and very high strung and crying a lot when we would bring him home, which is something that would never happen to him. Until we had him attend this daycare. We decided to part ways after our baby suffered a lot of stress from the ladies not giving the love and care a baby needs and plus a smashed finger incident with the amount of cameras displayed and two teachers usually with the kiddos. With a lot of comments of “he just cries a lot” when I would ask how he did. We are attending Little Red Wagon and the drastic change of a happy loved baby, that my baby is flourished into. They show love and comfort and patience and my baby has never been more happy. Needless to say, TruLite Daycare is clean, nice, and fancy, but the inside as far as front staff and back staff could use a lot of maintenance.
