My 9 year old was humiliated in front of her peers by a teacher so much that she refused to return to class. When we reached out to the studio we received no acknowledgment until a bill was sent to us weeks after our absence.
I enrolled my 4-year-old daughter in the Creative Dance 2 program at this establishment, led by Miss Hope, the owner's daughter. Regrettably, my experience was marked by disconcerting aspects. The limited instances when parents were permitted to observe the class were overshadowed by Miss Hope's repeated inquiries about the time, a perplexing occurrence during the brief session. Her consistent reliance on the children for guidance on the next steps introduced an unsettling atmosphere. During my time volunteering at a rehearsal, I was profoundly alarmed by the manner in which the instructors communicated with the young participants. Their approach lacked clarity and condescended to the children, a practice that reached its nadir when I overheard the owner belittling an 8-year-old and subjecting her to public embarrassment due to a misunderstanding. Strikingly, Miss Hope demonstrated a noticeable absence of engagement with her students, neither checking on their progress nor acknowledging their presence. To compound matters, my daughter revealed that Miss Hope left the classroom unattended for a noticeable duration, a revelation that led me to inquire about the incident. Regrettably, my inquiry was met with discourtesy from the owner, who denied the occurrence outright. Furthermore, the oversight of omitting my daughter's name from the playbill for the recital added to the list of shortcomings. The studio's maintenance leaves much to be desired, with an unkempt and unclean environment that further detracts from the experience. The staff's demeanor is equally disheartening, marked by a lack of courtesy, and a disconcerting detachment from the students' progress. Strikingly, there was no discernible effort made to engage with parents or discuss their children's performance in the class, raising questions about their awareness of individual students. These concerns appear to be shared among fellow parents, as conversations revealed a shared sense of disappointment in the treatment received, prompting many to express their disinclination to return. In summary, the negative aspects that permeated my encounter with this dance studio have left me gravely concerned about its educational quality and the overall experience it offers.
