ABC Center

At the First Lutheran ABC Learning Center, an accredited pre-school with a GOLD LEVEL “Step Up To Quality” rating with the State of Ohio, our mission is to provide a Christian atmosphere where children will experience Christ’s love and will be encouraged to explore God’s world. The ABC Center is a ministry of First Lutheran Church in Shelby.

We recognize the family as the most important part of a child’s life and we will strive to create a bond between home and day care/learning environment. We will assist the family by providing a Christian atmosphere for children to to grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. We believe children have the right to feel safe and secure in their environment, and we emphasize safety for all children.

Our program promotes curiosity, resourcefulness, cooperation, kindness, affection, and joy for the children of different ability levels, various socioeconomic backgrounds, and ethnicities. The children will experience various activities to develop understanding of others in the world around them. The children will learn to care for all of God’s creation through developmentally appropriate and multi-sensory activities.
