Awesome Learning Atmosphere
While my child did not attend this daycare. From the moment I met the director the energy was off. The school was predominantly children of Hispanic/Latino race. No children of color and perhaps 1-3 children of white origin. My 3 year old was exploring the outside area and was upset when it was time to leave, and the director proceeded to ask me a 2nd time (1st time when we first met/greeted) if my child had behavioral problems. Again I reassured her no and that taking her away from play without transitioning is why she cried a little. At the end of the tour for no reason she randomly asked again if my child had behavioral problems (I had my child in my arms the remaining tour). Stereotyping from a simple cry that lasted less than 1 minute from a toddler. By the end of the tour She told me my child could start the following Monday. then I got a call by the end of business day stating there was no more room. Hmm very suspicious. My child is of color and I honestly feel like the director certainly prefers children of Hispanic/Latino origin. Discrimination at its finest
Families First is a very secure and trusted educational facility. I made the decision to bring my kids (f,3 and m,6) here for early education and can say they’ve learned a lot of educational skills but also motor, social and emotional skills. 100% recommend.
Families First has had the responsibility of teaching 3 of my children. All have excelled perfectly, the two oldest are in advanced classes in elementary and middle school. I’m going to miss the Families First family as the youngest completes his final year. Thank you for being apart of our community and making an impact on the youth and their families. You all have allowed for me to graduate from nursing school with ease and start a new promising career. Thank you, I will forever be grateful.
