Food was great. We had our service dog with us and supplied our credentials but the young gentleman host still said we had to sit outside because dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. He was very firm about this. Once we were seated the same host had to make a separate trip to our table to remind us that our dog must behave or we would have to leave. Meanwhile, our dog was laying down beside me and never made a peep and slept the whole time. After all, it is a very well trained small service dog. I did not say anything because I assumed he was a young kid who does not understand the federal service dog registry laws. I just feel the restaurant manager needs to school the young lad host.
Food was quality and really homemade. Yum!
My TasteBuds and I were able to squeeze in a late in the season dinner at the Blue Mingo. The moon rose up to meet and casted a blue hue over the place and the food and I realized why the place got its name. For our appetizer we had the brussell sprouts. It was a delicious production of sweet, spicy and chared. It was topped with a green cilantro pesto sauce of type. Later, for my meal, I added salmon to a Red Beet Salad that had goat cheese and pecans. I paired it with an Argentinian Malbec. An unusual pairing for wine and fish but because malbecs are usually spicy I found that it complemented the bed of arugula in the beet salad. My taste bud opted for the salmon, coconut rice and asparagus dish. Unfortunately for us, the Blue Mingo will be closing for the season so the next time we will be able to have this tasty dish and cool setting will be next year. We gathered, we experienced, now you get to decide. #LOP
