This hospital only cares about profit. The staff treats you like you’re a burden to service. They will not go out of their way to make any additional calls between coordinating providers, leaving you in the dark and helpless. Even if you made many calls personally to get everything set up, they’ll find a reason to make you pay extra out-of-pocket. Very disappointed with the service I’ve been provided from my home town hospital. This is why all of my children were taken to Scottsbluff for delivery. Now some context for my review. 6 mo ago they found a blood clot in the portal vein next to my liver while I was in the ER for stomach pain. My second follow up scan was denied by insurance due to “lack of information included with the order” but when I told radiology staff that I would just pay out-of-pocket for now since this is a life threatening condition she laughed and told me you’ll change your mind once you see the amount” and just took me off the schedule! They wanted 3 grand at TOS. I’ve never had someone who worked in the hospital try and talk me out of healthcare treatment before. So unless you give them stacks of cash upfront for a 10 minute scan, don’t expect to get service. Avoid at ALL costs!
While I love the staff and doctors an organization is only as good as it coding and billing specialists. They are fraudulently coding and billing office visits before you even walk through the door. When I called I was met with condescension and apathy, As a former Utilization review manager myself, the fight is now on!! I refuse to have my insurance abused and be charged for services not rendered.
The worst place ever . My dad was there and he is at the end of his life . He can’t see. The CNA was the worse I seen her walking the halls not doing nothing . They are not friendly or have any bed side matter. I hope my family never has to go there again. I found out that CNA has been there 20 years WOW she was the worse. 2 weeks he was there no shower. Bed sores . Anyways If you can go to Sterling I would.
Be very wary of improper medical codes used. Know them beforehand at appt. Improper coding is a complaint, see other reviews. You will end up paying large amounts. UChealth DRs. in Colorado asked SMRC for coding change based on error - nada. All they can do is ask. This hospital is on a $$$ thread and needs cash. SMRC has super low pay for nurses, they go to other states nearby for work as they should. Adminstration is lousy and sets the tone of the hospital. Colorado health care/NP health care seems much closer, based on SMRC misconduct. If you are able go that route, it is worth it. Colorado also comps hotels for patients, just ask.
