Village Music is truly a hidden gem—literally. Tucked away behind a large cedar tree, it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking closely. But once you find it, you’ll be glad you did. The shop is run by a retired gentleman who operates on his own schedule, so don’t expect regular hours. It’s best to call ahead or just drop by and hope he’s there. He may be hard of hearing in conversation, but his ear for music is still sharp as ever. He treated us with real kindness and took the time to restring our guitars with care. There’s an old-school charm to the whole experience that you just don’t get at big music stores. If you appreciate patience, character, and someone who genuinely knows and loves music, Village Music is worth the visit.
We’re lucky to have such an awesome music shop and owner in Stockton!
