I love this store but one thing…why have self checkouts if you aren’t permitted to use them? Either all are closed or you get to one, get started unloading your stuff, and an employee tells you to come to their register so you have to gather all your stuff up and move. I’ve never stolen anything and have no criminal record, and some days I would like to bag my stuff my way, check out at my pace, and not have to talk to people. Edited to add- I recently went to an open self checkout, began to enter my information, and was promptly told to leave the register and come to the one where an employee stood. I asked were customers not permitted to use the self checkout and was told they’re permitted to use it but she would ring me up over there. I’m confused on how I can be permitted to use it but not permitted to use it at the same time. I politely stated since I was already using this register I would prefer to continue using it and got no response. What is the deal with not wanting people to use the self checkouts? Sometimes I’ve just had a long day and don’t want to talk to anyone. Why should a customer be made to move and start over the process if they’re already checking out? Can someone please explain why this particular Michael’s is so bizarre about self checkout? I also went in one day and they only had one register open and refused to open any self checkouts to a point people were putting down their items and leaving because the line was so long and slow. I had no choice but to wait it out but it was ridiculous. Why have self checkouts if you’re going to act like using them is a crime against humanity?
They don't have any fabric. Unfortunately, I went there specifically for fabric. The employee said they planned on getting some in about a year. I thought they bought the Joann's brand? I was disappointed but maybe it's a work in progress.
