Total Recall School for Dogs

I recently attended the puppy agility class at Total Recall. I was extremely excited for this class, but unfortunately, it was a stressful experience for both me and my dog. The class was significantly overcrowded (25 dogs week one. Week two they offered a 2nd class, but we still had 15 dogs at our time). The environment was chaotic and overstimulating. Instead of a positive learning environment, it was a struggle just to keep my puppy focused and calm. When I approached the trainer for help after class, the only solutions offered were to use a prong collar and corrective mouth spray they sell on-site. While I am not opposed to those tools, these felt like "band-aid" fixes that did not address the actual issue of how to help manage my dog's stress. Most disappointing was the attitude I received toward our previous training. I was openly criticized for the obedience work I had done with my dog previously (with certified, professional trainers) simply because it wasn't done at Total Recall. This was our 2nd poor experience at this location, so we will not be returning. I am rating two stars instead of one because they eventually issued a refund for my remaining classes, though it did require multiple requests on my end.

Have run 5 dogs through here over the years for obedience and basic agility. Very experienced trainers and solid programs.
