Square Lake is beautiful and clear. The restroom, changing, and showering facilities are very nice. Sandy beach, pan-fishing dock, grills… But there are negatives. No playground equipment of any kind. The big negative - a really intense life guarding regime: 15 minutes of every hour out of the water. My kids want to swim. Let them swim. In the abstract, I’m pro-lifeguarding and pro-teen-jobs but this system is a killjoy.
As of 9-29-25 Beach is under major construction. Water is amazingly clear .
I drove 40 minutes only to find out it's closed. You can't even drive into the park, everything is torn up and under construction. An update in Google would have been nice!!
