This is an inspirational organization that cares about supporting their community and helping people meet their personal life/career goals. They offer free tutoring for the GED, as well as a youth program that helps people ages 16-24 learn crucial work and life skills. I highly recommend working with them!

Awesome staff and programs available! If you are looking to get your GED for free and want be welcomed like family, this is your place! Additionally, if you are between the ages of 16-24, the Family Literacy Center has an incredible program (JMG) to assist with life skills, career exploration, post-secondary education/training and much more!
I have been associated with the Lapeer Family Literacy Center for over 25 years. This is a "mighty" non-profit. With a limited annual budget, an extremely small and hardworking staff, and wonderful volunteers; FLC just keeps getting better and better every year. The number of students that they support continues to grow. Last year they helped 79 people receive their GEDs. They also partner with other organizations to help the entire Thumb area find literacy resources. Three photos are from the annual Camel Races and the last photo is with one of the volunteers at the Spring Expo in Lapeer.
