Saw the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon show. It was about an hour long (40ish min for the actual show, plus 15-20 min of background introduction). Didn't have high expectations going in but the visuals and sound were excellent and blended well with the music. But what really elevated the show was the host, Chris, who is a superb speaker and his obvious passion for the subject matter took everything to the next level! My only recommendation for improvement would be to upgrade the seating so it's more like an IMAX movie theatre experience where you can recline the chair, in order to better appreciate the visuals overhead.
I really wish I lived closer to Bowling Green so that I could see every show that Chris leads. His passion for the stars and engaging presentation will leave you wanting to explore the ends of the universe. His socratic style gets you questioning the why of it all and excited to learn more. All this and I only saw the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon show. So many other places would have just turned on the show and cranked the bass and let you watch. He took us on a philosophical and emotional journey of the album which gave the experience so much depth. This planetarium is raising money for a new projector system.... and I hope he exceeds his goal. This place is a treasure and Chris is a deserving director. The Pink Floyd tickets have a cost as this show is their fundraiser... but everything else is FREE!
What a great night. We learned so much from Chris amd how funny.and animated he was. Wish I had him as a teacher. We will be back for other events.
CHRIS WAS THE INSTRUCTOR AND IS EDUCATED SEEMS LIKE
Mr. Chris Chandler did an excellent job of presenting both shows for our homeschool group. He was very helpful in planning our field trip to the planetarium by giving us a list of shows to choose from and accommodating the date and time we requested. He was very engaging with the children and let them be part of the experience, instead of just having them sit and watch the show. Mr. Chris was obviously very knowledgeable in all the topics he discussed and made the entire experience interesting and informative.
